The Birdie Boys II, Inc. is a partnership between Mike Parrish and Andy Villarreal. Mike is a well-known PGA golf professional with almost 40 years of experience with golf in this region, including affiliations with Boaz Golf Club and the Golf Shop at Madison Golf Center. Andy is a seasoned restaurateur and service industry professional who will manage the food and beverages at Sunset Landing. This will include all catering functions and a full-service bar and grille that will open in the next two weeks.
Sunset Landing Golf Course offers 6,803 yards of native grass fairways and bentgrass greens. A par 72 course with a slope of 71.9 and rating of 118 from the black and 66.9 and 108 respectively from the whites, Sunset Landing is ideal for seasoned golfers and beginners alike.
“We’re very excited for this new endeavor and for the potential we believe Sunset Landing offers,” Parrish said. “Our goal is for Sunset Landing to become a premiere public golf course in the Huntsville area.”
The 100-plus acres currently designated as a golf course is a large part of the Port of Huntsville’s master plan for development. In the long term, the Port of Huntsville will need this land for further aviation development purposes.
