Tanner boys, girls defeat Ardmore

Tanner completed a sweep of Ardmore on Monday night, taking the boys and girls games behind a steady offensive performance and strong defense.
The Tanner boys consistently outscored Ardmore in each quarter to win 58-49.

The Rattlers led just 12-10 at the end of the first quarter and 26-23 at halftime. Ardmore continued to hang with Tanner through three quarters, and the Rattlers took a 40-36 lead into the final period.
However, the Rattlers finally pulled away in the final eight minutes, outscoring the Tigers 18-13 to take the nine-point victory.
Tanner was led by J.J. Jones with 16 points, while Nathan Montgomery and Jaq’uan Thompson both scored 10 points in the win.
Waymon Perry was the only Ardmore player to score in double figures, tallying 13 points.
Tanner girls 70, Ardmore 43
Tanner used huge first and fourth quarters to pull away and take a commanding victory over Ardmore. The Rattlers’ offense got going immediately, scoring 24 points in the first quarter en route to taking a 33-23 lead into halftime. After pulling out to a 47-33 lead after three quarters, Tanner outscored the Tigers 23-10 in the final period to turn the game into a runaway.

Nahriya Timmons led Tanner with 20 points, while Ikia Mitchell scored 13 and Nautica Noble tallied 12.
Ardmore was led by Savannah Moore with 12 points and Carly Wise, who scored 10.
Clements girls 62, Brooks 50
A strong second half saw Clements turn a game that was tied at halftime into a comfortable 12-point victory Monday night over Brooks.
Clements led 16-11 after one quarter, but Brooks came back in the game and tied it at 29-29 at the halftime break.
But the Colts came out of the locker room strong, especially defensively. Clements held Brooks to just eight points in the third quarter and took a 42-37 lead into the final period. The Colts then put the game away in the fourth, outscoring the Lions 20-13 in the final period.
Emrey McGill led Clements with 14 points, while Jayna Sickler and Lily Miller also scored in double figures, tallying 12 and 11 points, respectively. Brooks was led by Grace West with 14 points and Sophie Patterson with 13.
Clements improved to 3-3 with the victory.
Brooks boys 51, Clements 36
Clements couldn’t get much offense going Monday night, as the Colts fell to Brooks by 15 on a night where they could only score 36 points.
Clements had just five players dent the scoresheet, with only two of them scoring more than four points.
Austin Harvell led the Colts with 16 points, while Lucas Bailey had 11.
