I-565 paving, lane shift next week

The Alabama Department of Transportation advises motorists that Reed Contracting will mill and pave the inside shoulder of Interstate 565 eastbound at Exit 3 (Greenbrier Road) on the nights of Sunday, Nov. 4, and Monday, Nov. 5, weather permitting.

The work is being done to prepare for shifting eastbound traffic onto the inside lane and inside shoulder Tuesday.

The night work will be between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. On Tuesday, work will be performed in the daytime, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Motorists are advised to expect single-lane closures on I-565 both nights and during the day Tuesday.

The $10,264,000 interchange modifications project, anticipated to continue into late 2019 or early 2020, will reconfigure the eastbound ramps to and from Greenbrier Road, improving safety and traffic flow at the interchange.
