LCSO arrests man on SORNA violation charge

A Blount County man was arrested Monday because he violated a requirement of the Sex Offender Reporting Notification Act, records show.

Daniel Roy Woodhurst, 44, of 2654 Arkadelphia Road, Hayden, was at the Budget Inn in Ardmore when a deputy made contact with him, according to Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Stephen Young. He added Woodhurst, who had an outstanding warrant out of Blount County, did not have identification on him, which is a SORNA requirement.

Woodhurst, a registered sex offender, was convicted in 1997 on a charge of indecency with a 13-year-old female. He remained in the Limestone County Jail Tuesday evening with a $15,000 bond.
