Monday the deadline for debris removal

Monday is the deadline to remove debris related to the March 19 tornado that hit northern Limestone County.
Residents in impacted areas should adhere to the following guidelines:

• Vegetative debris, such as trees and branches, may be disposed of using the following methods:
Burn debris on your property (Be sure a no-burn order is not in effect);
Take the debris to a landfill or transfer station; or
Pile debris on the backside of the ditch, away from the road. Do not place debris in ditches or on roadside, and do not block fire hydrants or mailboxes;
• Construction or building materials should be separated from vegetative debris and piled on the backside of the ditch, away from the road. Do not place debris in ditches or on roadside and do not block hydrants or mailboxes;
• White goods, such as appliances and propane tanks, and household hazardous wastes, such as paints, bleach and pesticides must be disposed of by the homeowner.
