MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Billboards with a picture of a slain Prichard girl have begun appearing in Alabama.

Michael Lewis of Bumble Bee Billboards said eight billboards have been printed in memory of 8-year-old Hiawayi Robinson. He said they will be displayed in communities including Mobile, Montgomery and Birmingham.

Al.com reports (http://bit.ly/1ByZ9uN) that one billboard already stands in front of the abandoned building on Rebel Road where Hiawayi’s body was found Sept. 18.

The girl’s father, Hiawatha Robinson, is charged with sodomy and murder. Defense attorney Jeff Deen has said that prosecutors are relying on circumstantial evidence and don’t have any DNA evidence linking Robinson to the girl’s death.

State Rep. Napoleon Bracy said he thinks the billboards are a great idea and show community support for justice for Hiawayi.
