The small auditorium at Athens Middle School will get a new roof in upcoming weeks.

The Athens Board of Education Thursday approved the repairs.

Dr. Orman Bridges said the maintenance department was attempting to repair roof flashing around the auditorium and discovered that a portion of the roof was deteriorated.

Stephen Ward and Associates inspected the area and advised that the roof be replaced.
