Fannie L. Carter
Funeral arrangements for Fannie L. Carter, 93, of Athens, will be announced by Spry Funeral Home. Mrs. Carter died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at Limestone Health Facility.
Christine M. Miller
A graveside service for Christine M. Miller, 74, of Chicago, and formerly of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Roselawn Cemetery with Jeff Mays officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight the funeral home.
Mrs. Miller died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, in Chicago. She was born Nov. 13, 1932, in Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Miller.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis Miller of Chicago and Danny Miller of Tampa, Fla.; three brothers, Gerald Burns, Aaron Burns and Jackson Burns, all of Athens; two sisters, Betty Burns and Joyce Zurich, both of Athens; and two grandchildren.
Addie Mae Millican
The funeral for Addie Mae Millican, 84, of Pulaski, Tenn., will be at 1 p.m. today at Cool Springs Church of Christ with Tony Chaney and Owen Lewter officiating and Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be for two hours before the service today in the church.
Mrs. Millican died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at Ivy Crest Assisted Living Facility.
She was a lifelong resident of the Bunker Hill community and Pulaski. She was a businesswoman for more than 20 years and then followed her dream of becoming a nurse for another 30 years. She was dedicated to her family, her neighbors and her patients. She was a member of Cool Springs Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tullo and Edna Minatra.
She is survived by her husband, J.L. Millican Jr.; two sons, Ralph Millican and wife Bettie Sue “Susie,” and John L. Millican III and wife Donna, all of Pulaski; three daughters, Eileen Terry Usery and husband Jimmy of Athens, Mary Ann Lewter and husband Owen, and Helen McGrew and husband Albert of Pulaski; six grandchildren, Tim Millican, Christie Fralix, Ruth Crumbley, Dawn Letson and Owen Lewter II, all of Pulaski, and Robyn Terry Abernathy of Athens; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Louise Hargrove of Whites Creek, Tenn.
Pallbearers will be Tim Millican, Owen Lewter II, Bryan Abernathy, Bobby Abernathy, Barry Letson and Brandon Fralix.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cool Springs Church of Christ Benevolence Fund, c/o Mark Crabtree, 650 Jackson Hollow Road, Minor Hill, Tenn., 38473.
Ethel Roland
The funeral for Ethel Roland, 91, of Ardmore, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Sammy Brister and the Rev. Steve Hargrove officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Roland died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
Paul Wilkins Jr.
The funeral for Paul Wilkins Jr., 65, of Shelbyville, Tenn., and formerly of Elkmont, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at McConnell Funeral Home in Athens with Charley Alookaran officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Feldaus Memorial Chapel in Shelbyville and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at McConnell Funeral Home.
Mr. Wilkins died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
A native of Central City, Ky., Mr. Wilkins was the son of Paul Joseph Wilkins and Evelyn Hope Halley Wilkins. He was an Army veteran and a TVA retiree with more than 30 years of service, as well as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Mr. Wilkins was the owner and operator of Richards Cafeteria, a well-known eating establishment in Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Wilkins of Shelbyville; one son, Paul Wayne Wilkins and wife Kimberly of Manchester, Tenn.; two daughters, Regina Clem and husband Charles Jr. and Lisa W. Davis and husband Harvey, all of Elkmont; nine grandchildren, Paul Michael Wilkins, Lainey Wilkins, Ann Marie Wilkins, Kathryn Wilkins, Audrey Wilkins, Matthew Clem, Kirstie Clem, Leslie Davis and Nicholas Davis; and three sisters, Shirley Gluth of Hammond, Ind., Sue Pate of Island, Ky., and Kathy Postum of Owensbury, Ky.
