A new video podcast and talk show from Athens-Limestone Hospital is ready to engage in a local conversation — a Healthy Conversation, you might even say — about timely health care topics.

Recently launched with its debut episode out now, the hospitals’ new podcast — naturally titled Healthy Conversations — is aimed at delivering Limestone County residents health care education, to promote hospital services, and to “connect the community with the professionals who care for them,” according to the project’s announcement.

Podcast episodes are hosted by Susan Claborn, Marketing Director for Athens-Limestone Hospital, alongside “a rotating team of community co-hosts.” Each installment will also feature “physicians, nurses, and hospital staff as special guests, offering insight into a wide range of health topics — from diabetes, women’s health and asthma to mental wellness and hospital services.”

Meant to be both informative and approachable, podcast episodes are designed to spotlight real local people, and, of course, real conversations. The guest list also will include “medical experts from a variety of specialties, as well as staff members who work behind the scenes to keep the hospital running smoothly.”

“This program was inspired by a desire to make health care education more accessible, engaging, and personal,” said Claborn in a statement. “We wanted to reach people in the ways they get most of their information these days — through podcasts, social media and video — and bring trusted voices from our hospital directly to them.”

The hospital encourages members of the community not only to tune in and subscribe, but even to suggest topic ideas that could be addressed in upcoming new episodes of Healthy Conversations.
