An Ardmore woman will spend two years in Limestone County Jail after pleading guilty to reduced charges in the 2018 death of a Toney man.

Kaitlynn Rae Hall, 33, was indicted in February 2019 for reckless murder, felony leaving the scene and driving under the influence stemming from an April 13, 2018, 5:30 a.m. collision. According to authorities at the time, Hall struck from behind a vehicle driven by Larry Wade White, and thereafter left the Alabama 20 wreck scene.

White’s 2003 Ford Taurus overturned in the westbound side and he was declared dead on the scene. Athens Police arrested Hall later that day and charged her with driving under the influence.

Hall was scheduled to go on trial Monday, but she pled guilty to reduced charges before court convened in her case, according to Limestone County District Attorney Brian Jones.

“She pled guilty to manslaughter and the other two indictments were dismissed,” said Jones. “She was sentenced to 20 years in a split sentence. She will serve two years in the county jail and after release, five years of supervised probation. But the remaining 18 years of her sentence will be hanging over her head during her time under supervised probation.”

If Hall should violate the terms of her probation she would be required to serve the additional 18 years.
