LCSO: $350,000 in drugs seized from home; man charged

- Limestone County Sheriff's Office narcotics investigators found numerous marijuana plants and other drugs while executing a search warrant Thursday night.
A man was arrested Thursday on numerous drug charges in what the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office is calling one of its largest drug seizures in recent years.
According to a press release from the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, David Brian Todd Sr., 61, of 12000 block Bent Pine Pocket, Athens, has been charged with drug trafficking, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The release said the Limestone County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit conducted a search warrant at Todd’s residence, located near the Tennessee River, Thursday evening. Investigators found an indoor marijuana growing operation consisting of 70 high-grade marijuana plants, a half-ounce of methamphetamine, Oxycontin and some other prescription drugs. The value of the drugs is estimated to be about $350,000.
Todd remained in the Limestone County Jail Friday morning. Bond had not been set.
