BREAKING: Firefighters on scene of possible apartment fire

Athens Fire & Rescue Service personnel are on the scene of a possible structure fire at Oakleaf Apartments on Elkton Street. 

A resident called 911 at 11:19 a.m. to report smoke in the attic of an apartment. Smoke was visible when firefighters arrived on the scene.

The resident who called in the fire was working to evacuate others from the building.
