An Athens teen has been arrested in connection with multiple vehicle break-ins, Athens Police Department announced Friday.

Tyrese Jamal Sales, 19, was arrested Thursday on two counts of breaking and entering a vehicle. Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson said the break-ins occurred Nov. 21.

“Investigators Jonathan Caldwell and Jarrod Smith had been working on several cases where vehicles had been broken into,” Johnson said.

Madison Police Sgt. Greg Dees stopped Sales in Madison the day of the break-ins and found a credit card that belonged to one of the victims, the chief said. He said Athens investigators executed a search warrant at Sales’ residence and recovered several other items that had been taken from cars.

Sales was booked at the police department and transferred to Limestone County Jail. Bail is set at $5,000.
