An 8-year-old boy who was found unresponsive Wednesday in a community swimming pool has died, an official said.
Limestone County Schools Superintendent Dr. Tom Sisk confirmed the death via Facebook, though he did not provide a name of the student. He added the child would have been a second-grader at Creekside Primary School this fall.
“I am absolutely heartbroken,” Sisk said. “Our family knows his family well. Please join me in reaching out to support this family during this tragic loss. We are praying for strength during this difficult time.”
The boy was found unresponsive and floating in a pool at the Legacy Grove subdivision off Mooresville Road. He was flown to Huntsville Hospital via MedFlight Wednesday evening.
