Madison teen killed in crash

A Madison teen was killed Thursday night in a crash on Wall Triana Highway near Dunlop Boulevard, a Huntsville Police official said Friday.

Lt. Stacy Bates said 16-year-old Tyrone Pointer was traveling south on Wall Triana when the motorcycle he was operating collided with a car making a left turn.

“According to witnesses, it appears the headlight on the motorcycle was not on or not functioning at the time of the accident,” Bates said.

The accident is still under investigation, but Bates said charges against the driver of the car are not anticipated.

Pointer was a student at Bob Jones High School, according to published media reports.
