Decatur teen injured Friday in Limestone County has died

A Decatur teenager who was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Friday in Limestone County has died.

The 17-year-old teen was injured when his vehicle left the roadway of U.S. 31 at the 362 mile marker, three miles north of Decatur, about 11:05 p.m. struck a ditch and overturned, state troopers said.

The teen, who was not using a seat belt, was ejected and transported to an area hospital where he died Sunday.

Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
