- Alabama State Trooper Michael Edwards and a wrecker driver for Tim's Wrecker Service collect debris following a one-vehicle accident Thursday across from Clements Baptist Church on U.S. 72, west of Athens.
A Limestone County man was listed in good condition at Huntsville Hospital Thursday afternoon following a one-car crash on U.S. 72, just west of Athens.
State troopers and a witness at the scene said Joshua Grigsby, 32, of Rogersville, was traveling on 72, across from Clements Baptist Church, at about 9:45 a.m. Grigsby apparently lost control of his gold Buick sedan, left the outside westbound lane and struck two trees off the roadway.
A relative said Grigsby was conscious at the scene, and was taken by MedFlight helicopter to the hospital.
Trooper Michael Edwards worked the wreck. Ambulance personnel, firefighters and deputies were also at the scene.
Separate wreck
Two people were injured early Thursday when their car and a truck collided on Mooresville Road at the intersection of Alabama 20, said Lt. Stacey Bates of Huntsville Police Department.
A 39-year-old Madison woman driving a Saturn L300 apparently pulled out in front of a Toyota Tundra driven by a 34-year-old Hartselle man about 6:45 a.m., Bates said.
The man suffered only minor injuries, but the woman was taken to Huntsville Hospital by MedFlight helicopter in serious condition, he said.
Because the accident is still under investigation, police declined to name the victims at this time, therefore their conditions were not available from Huntsville Hospital.
Emergency personnel and HPD worked the wreck.
