MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Police in Mobile are investigating after finding a man dead from multiple gunshots in the doorway of a vacant apartment.

Mobile police said in news release the 40-year-old man was found dead early Tuesday after someone called police to report a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a home on Heron Drive near Interstate 10.

Local news outlets report that man had several gunshot wounds, but results of an autopsy were still pending.

Police did not immediately release the dead man’s name.
