A man was shot in the foot Monday night in eastern Limestone County.

The victim, whose name was not available at press time, was shot in the foot about 5 p.m. at a home in the 28300 block of Jennings Chapel Road, east of Dorning Road, according to emergency radio traffic.

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office had little information to share at press time other than that they were investigating the shooting. Immediately after the incident, deputies were looking for the shooter and the rifle used in the shooting before allowing emergency personnel into the home to assist the victim.

East Limestone and Oak Grove-Thatch volunteer fire departments had been called to the scene.
