The wife of Madison Mayor Paul Finley was clocked doing 103 mph in a 65 mph zone on Interstate 565 when she was stopped Wednesday by a state trooper, an official said.
Trooper Curtis Summerville said Julie Finley was behind the wheel of a 2013 Honda Accord when she was stopped by a state trooper near mile marker 19 at about 4:30 p.m. He said after further investigation, Finley was arrested on charges of DUI and transported to the Madison County Jail.

She also received a citation for reckless driving, Summerville said.
Paul Finley on Thursday thanked the community for its prayers following his wife’s arrest. She was released from jail Thursday morning after posting a $1,000 bond.
“Today, I come to each of you in an open letter as a humble husband, father and mayor. Last evening my family experienced a very serious situation in which my wife was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. I feel it appropriate that you, our extended family, hear it directly from me,” Finley said in a statement to the media. “In these days ahead, we will seek healing and understanding and do not even attempt to hide or down play the seriousness of what has occurred.”
He also announced his family had retained the legal services of Mark McDaniel, “due to the nature of (Wednesday) night’s incident.”
