Athens-Limestone Family Resource Center seeks donations for teen program

The Family Resource Center in Athens is seeking support from the community for its third annual Teen Christmas Program for boys and girls ages 13-18.
The FRC is seeking donations for gift packages that will be distributed to families in the community meeting agency requirements. Items sought include $5 fast food gift cards, blankets, throws, scarves, hats, socks, toiletries, candy, treats, ear buds.
Items should be dropped off at the FRC by 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8. The agency is in the Crutcher Shopping Center at 406 S. Jefferson St., Athens, next to Dub’s Burgers.
Gift packages will be provided based on the following criteria:
• The teen’s family must have been referred by a school or other agency;
• The family must not be receiving gifts from another Christmas program; or
• The teen is attending one of three classes being offered.
The classes include: Bullying and Cyberbullying, led by Dr. Quanda Stevenson of Athens State University; School to Prison Pipeline, led by Murphy Brown of Bradford Health; and Teen Budgeting Tips, led by Lisa Marion and Nathan Hardiman of Woodforest Bank.
