Carolyn Aldredge

Surrounded by family and friends, on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, Carolyn Joyce Guyse Aldredge, 74, of Priceville passed from this life to eternal peace with God.

She was born Sept. 18, 1941, to Mr. and Mrs. Homer Carl Guyse Sr.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Homer Carl Guyse Jr.; and very special friend, Inez Johnson.

Mrs. Aldredge is survived by her husband of 20 years, William “Bill” Aldredge; children, Annette Mitchell and husband Tommy, Sissy Odell and husband Tommy, Sidney Aldredge, John Aldredge and wife Jennifer, and Rebecca Aldredge-Brown and husband Phillip; brothers, Allen Guyse and wife Debbie, and Joe Shull; sisters, Lois Guyse Livingston, and Wanda Guyse Gatlien and husband Stanley; grandchildren, Robyn McElyea, Jacob Moore, Carl T Mitchell III, Candice McGuire, Cyrena Siniard, Brandon Braswell, Christy Overton, Richard Odell, Harley Aldredge, Will Aldredge, Lauren Larson and Olivia LeCroix; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Aldredge graduated from Decatur High School in 1959 and worked for many years in and around Decatur as a beautician/cosmetologist. She retired in 1996 from TVA/Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant where she worked as a secretary.

She enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling. She was a tried and true Alabama football fan.

A Celebration of Life service will be 3 p.m. Monday, March 14 at Shoal Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Linville officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. at the church.

Burial will be in Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Braswell, Jacob Moore, Carl T. Mitchell III, Heath McElyea, Josh Siniard and Andrew McGuire.
