APD expects more arrests for marijuana

Athens Police expect to make more arrests in connection with the 4 pounds of marijuana they seized late Tuesday at a local apartment complex.

Tameka Sharde Rogers, 22, of 607 Woodridge Drive, was arrested on a charge of conspiracy to traffic cannabis, records show.

Lt. Trevor Harris and investigators Brandon Colburn and Mickey Hart arrested Rogers at her residence at Woodridge Apartments, Capt. Floyd Johnson said.

Investigators also seized 4 pounds of marijuana, he said.

“The investigation was the result of information our department had received,” Johnson said. “Our investigation into this case is continuing and we will be making other arrests in the near future.”

The pot has a street value of $9,000 to $10,000, he said.

Rogers was booked at the Police Department and transferred to the Limestone County Jail. Bail has not been set.
