Ever wonder how much property tax the local millionaire pays?
Ever wonder if anyone is paying the property tax on the rundown house next-door?
Beginning Oct. 1, Internet users can do just that by going to the Limestone County government Web site at www.limestonecounty.net and click on the link under Revenue Commissioner G. Brian Patterson’s name.
Visitors can search by parcel, by name or by address, Patterson said when announcing the pending service Friday.
Such information is a public record and has always been available, but having on-line access to it saves a trip to the courthouse.
“You can look up property records, values of property and see if the taxes are paid by the mortgage company,” Patterson said. “You can find out whether taxes are paid and recorded or pay taxes on-line by credit card by using a pin number from your tax bill. It’s a secure site, even we can’t see the pin number.”
