Ross Jenkins

The funeral for Ross Jenkins, 58, of Athens will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Spry Funeral Home with Dusty McLemore officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Jenkins died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at his residence.

Mr. Jenkins was born Nov. 28, 1948, in Limestone County. He was a member of the Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Va. He was an avid volunteer in substance-abuse programs and retired from Solutia Corp. in Decatur.

He is survived by one son, Rudder Jenkins and wife Amy of Athens; his parents, Herbert and Effie Jenkins of Athens; one brother, Jerry Jenkins of Athens; and one sister, Peggy Shores of Athens.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Jenkins, Mike Shores, Coty Johns, Donnie Johns, Clint Carwile and Wade Bates.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.



Doris Leanne Rucker

The funeral for Doris Leanne Rucker, 29, of New Hope will at 3:30 p.m. today at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Ricky Lowery officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Rucker died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital.



Laura V. Wilson Sexton

The graveside service for Laura V. Wilson Sexton, 93, of Athens will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Athens City Cemetery with George Steincross officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at McConnell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sexton died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Limestone Manor.

She was born Sept. 20, 1913, in Elkmont to John Silvers Wilson and Alice V. Smith Wilson. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Athens. She was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Sexton, and her son, Robert Sexton.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. David W. Sexton of Athens and Jerry Sexton of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Barbara Searcy of Athens; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Searcy, Jay Sexton, Spencer Searcy, Andy Widener, Heath Christopher and Paul Wilson.
