County arrests
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests Thursday. Some arrests may be previously reported, probation or bond revocations or part of a grand jury indictment:
• Rex Daniel Carter, 30, of 23753 Slate Road, Athens, third-degree domestic violence (harassment)
• Jerry Ray Heath, 36, of 27746 Saddle Trail, Toney, second-degree theft
• Joshua Alexander McKinney, 27, of 144 Sycamore Place, Athens, first-degree aggravated assault, discharging a firearm into occupied building, second-degree manufacturing a controlled substance, third-degree burglary
County thefts
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office reported no thefts Thursday.
City arrests
The Athens Police Department reported the following arrests Thursday:
• Christy Lynn Tellez, 36, of 1171 Elm St., Apt. 70, Athens, probation revoked on previous conviction for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit
• Rhett Weston Hinkle, 24, 6772 Loveless Park Loop, Bessemer, possession of a forged instrument and illegal possession/use of a credit/debit card
• Jason Clay Mace, 24, of 14135 Elk River Mills Road, Elkmont, carrying a concealed pistol without a permit
• Destiny Marie Miller, 20, of 16452 Fort Hampton Road, Elkmont, public intoxication, illegal possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia
City thefts
The Athens Police Department reported the following thefts Thursday:
• Fireball cinnamon pet valued at $2 stolen Jan. 11 from 600 block, U.S. 31 South, Suite A
• Six rifles, five handguns, one Browning 20-gauge antique over-under shotgun, three rifle scopes, Athens High School blue stone class ring, gold rope necklace, bag of silver coins, $600 in currency, miscellaneous Confederate currency, two Cabella’s Visa credit/debit cards and one box of checks, total $13,135, stolen from home in 100 block Bates Street between Dec. 30 and Jan. 11
• Black and white 20-inch Kent Taboo girls BMX bicycle with purple seat and pink and aqua Huffy girls Sea Star bike, total $300, stolen from 1000 block Mason Street between Jan. 11 and 12
