Several arrested in LCSO drug roundup

At least nine people were arrested Friday as part of an ambitious drug roundup carried out by deputies and investigators with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, an official said.

Spokesman Stephen Young said 30 arrest warrants were executed on 22 suspects wanted on various narcotics charges. The warrants were obtained after several months of narcotics operations conducted by investigators, he said.

The following people had been apprehended as of Friday afternoon:

• Charles Vibbert, 45, of 15828 Dupree Drive, Athens — distribution of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $10,000;

• Valentino Houston Sr., 57, of 705 Brownsferry Road. Athens — conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime. Released on $10,000 bond;

• Amber Mendoza-Jimenez, 32, of 18414 Alabama 99, Lot 14, Athens — distribution of a controlled substance. Released on $10,000 bond;

• Joseph Joines, 36, of 15885 Cannon Road, Elkmont — distribution of a controlled substance. Released on $10,000 bond;

• Christopher Shull, 26, of 19235 Easter Ferry Road, Athens — distribution of controlled substance. Bond was set at $10,000;

• Phillip Haggenmaker, 43, of 10717 Poplar Point Road, Athens — distribution of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $10,000;

• Kristy Finney, 28, of, 16569 Zehner Road, Lot 16, Athens — distribution of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $10,000;

• Derrick East, 32, of 2103 Stanford Street, Athens — distribution of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $10,000;

• Marcus J. Smith, 26, of 20608 Tillman Mill Road, Athens — distribution of a controlled substance. Released on $10,000 bond.
