How many years have you been in education? I have been in the education system for more than 20 years.

How many are with Limestone County Schools? I have been with Limestone County Schools for more than 15 years.

What makes you proud to be an educator? There are so many factors that make me proud to be an educator. I love interacting with the students on a daily basis. It is so important to have a relationship with each one. I enjoy learning their strengths and weaknesses to get them to the next level in yearly growth. I also love the “light bulb” moments when they have understood a lesson and are eager to spread their knowledge with others in their group. Lastly, I love the stories that they want to share with me. It is important not only for them to be good listeners but for me to be a good listener as well.

What has your experience in the education field taught you? Through the years of being in the education field, I have found that children learn on different levels. I definitely never stop looking for new ways to help each student so that they can feel successful. Each year brings a whole new set of challenges along with great minds.

What do you enjoy most about working for Limestone County Schools? Working for Limestone County Schools is important to me because it is where I grew up. I love that I can be a big part of a community where I can give back and continue to help bring up little ones that may want to be an educator to keep Limestone County at the top.

How do your students inspire you? My students amaze me year after year and day after day. Each student has their own mind and their own thinking. It is amazing how their little personalities can constantly keep me on my toes and create new answers that I didn’t think about. They have a heart that is so big and a mind that is so full of learning that makes it contagious.

What are your hobbies? Things that I love to do are spending time with the Lord and my church, being with my family and watching Alabama Crimson Tide football. Shopping is always a stress reliever.
