I have been in education for 25 years.

I have been with Limestone County Schools for 3 1/2 years.
What makes you proud to be an educator?
Teachers have the unique opportunity to directly influence and shape young minds, contributing to their growth and development. I am proud to partner with parents to help their students uncover and discover their pathway to success.
What has your experience in the education field taught you?
My vision, voice and vocation as an educator have taught me that learning is a lifelong process. My educational philosophy centers around this concept, and it should be engaging, inclusive and tailored to the unique needs of each student.
What do you enjoy most about working for Limestone County Schools?
At this age and stage of life, I appreciate the flexibility and opportunity afforded to me through Pearson Online Classroom to create active and collaborative learning where students are not just passive recipients of information but active participants in their education. By providing choice in education and encouraging self-directed learning, students develop autonomy, confidence and a sense of responsibility for their education.
How do your students inspire you?
Students inspire me by living their lives and allowing me to participate in their process of learning.
What are your hobbies?
Watching movies, listening to music, sightseeing, traveling, reading historical writings and collecting coins.
What is your favorite quote?

The Alabama Teacher of the Year Program honors and recognizes excellence in the teaching profession by identifying outstanding classroom teachers at local, district and state levels. The Teacher of the Year Program is open to any public school classroom teacher, librarian, counselor or other certified individuals in a K-12 setting.
The Limestone County Schools System honored each Teacher of the Year at the annual Teacher of the Year Banquet held on Monday, Dec. 2. The Limestone County Schools District-Level Elementary (K-6) and Secondary (7-12) Teacher of the Year, along with the Educational Support Person of the Year, was announced at the special event. These teachers will then represent Limestone County Schools in the Alabama Teacher of the Year state competition.
