In the pop culture world, the year 1964 was dominated by legendary English rock band The Beatles — holding their first world tour with two songs topping Billboard magazine’s Hot 100 songs of 1964 “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” and “She Loves You.”

That year was also highlighted by Athens High School’s graduating class of 1964, which recently celebrated its 60th anniversary on Saturday, July 20, at the Old Greenbrier Restaurant.
