LCSO: Two arrested on drug, forgery charges

Two people were arrested Friday on numerous charges after investigators discovered drugs, forged checks and counterfeit money in their motel room, an official said.
Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Stephen Young said general and narcotics investigators conducted surveillance at the Country Hearth motel in Athens on Dec. 1, prior to serving a search warrant. Young said they were surveilling the motel after receiving tips about drug and forgery activity.
Randy Kyle, 28, and Brandi Renee Robinson, 34, both of 22707 Piney Chapel Road, Athens, were seen leaving the motel in a tan Ford Expedition. They were then stopped by investigators on U.S. 72 West.
Authorities seized five Xanax bars, syringes, a handgun, computer, printer and multiple forged checks. Kyle and Robinson was apprehended and taken to the Limestone County Jail.
Investigators then searched the motel room where the pair had been staying and discovered the following items:
• A second computer and printer used as forgery devices;
• Multiple sheets of paper used to print counterfeit money;
• Sheets containing multiple identities;
• Forged checks;
• Paperwork to multiple prepaid debit cards;
• Account numbers for multiple individuals;
• A forged ID;
• Other counterfeiting items; and
• Drug paraphernalia.
“When Randy Kyle was booked into the jail, corrections officers confiscated several counterfeit $100 bills and $50 bills from his person,” Young said.
Kyle was charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, five counts first-degree possession of a forged instrument, possession of a forgery device, trafficking in stolen identities, possession of a controlled substance, using a false identity to obstruct justice and possession of a concealed weapon without a permit. His total bond was set at $20,250.
Robinson was charged with possession of a concealed weapon without a permit, two counts possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in stolen identities, first-degree possession of a forged instrument and possession of a forgery device. Her total bond was set at $6,000.
Both Kyle and Robinson remained in jail as of Tuesday evening.
