Benjamin Hankins Waide and Natalie Rae Huff

Wayne Huff and Janet Huff, both of Athens, announce the engagement of their daughter Natalie Rae Huff of Athens to Benjamin Hankins Waide of Athens, son of Hank Waide of Anniston and Riley Waide of Lester.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dr. Robert Caplinger of Tyler, Texas, the late Dr. Leslie Huff, the late Peggy Huff, and the late Margaret Caplinger.

She is a 2002 graduate of Athens High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Alabama Huntsville where she received a bachelor’s degree in communications. She is employed by Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn., as a unit secretary.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Ruthie Lee of Huntsville, the late Lewis Lee, the late Emily Lee, the late Benjamin Waide, and the late Billie Waide.

He is a 2000 graduate of West Limestone High School and a 2004 graduate of Auburn University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in agronomy and soils. He is employed by Canyon Ridge Club at Lookout Mountain, Ga., as golf course superintendent.

The wedding is planned for Aug. 1, 2009, in Destin, Fla.
