Blake Shelton’s protégé from “The Voice” steps out with her debut album

America first came to know country singer RaeLynn as a bright-eyed teenager on NBC’s “The Voice.” Coach Blake Shelton served as her mentor on the show, and he’s still helping guide her career to this day. In fact, RaeLynn was the opening act on Blake’s most recent tour, which just wrapped up this month.

RaeLynn tells Rare Country, “Blake is one of the best people I know and like a brother/dad to me. He’s just been a big supporter of my music and my career. I can’t imagine life without him honestly. I can’t believe it’s been five years since I met him on ‘The Voice.’ We’ve just built this relationship. He’s like a part of my family.”

Now, RaeLynn is stepping out with the release of her debut album, “WildHorse,” which features the emotional hit single, “Love Triangle.” That song addresses the pain she felt as a kid dealing with her parents’ divorce. Other songs on the project talk about RaeLynn’s life now as a married woman. She tied the knot with her husband, Josh Davis, in 2016. He’s now in training as a member of the U.S. military.

All that life experience makes for an album RaeLynn could have never made when she was fresh off “The Voice.” That’s why she’s glad “WildHorse” is coming out at this point in her life.

“I’ve learned so much about myself and I’ve gotten better at writing songs,” RaeLynn explains. “The album that I have now is just so perfect. It’s really shown where I’ve been as a woman and as a person and as an artist. It’s like all the puzzle pieces fit together perfectly.”
