Calhoun VP to be honored by honors society
Dr. Patricia Wilson, who serves as Calhoun Community College’s vice president of student services, will be one of 25 college administrators honored next month, according to a press release.
The officials will be honored at Phi Theta Kappa’s Catalyst 2019, the annual convention for the international honor society for two-year colleges. The convention is April 4-6 in Orlando, Florida.
Recipients were nominated for the award by the students on their campus.
The Distinguished College Administrator awards are presented to college vice presidents, deans, or directors serving at post-secondary institutions who have shown strong support of student success on their campus by recognizing academic achievement, leadership, and service among high-achieving students.
“The entire Calhoun family is extremely proud of Dr. Wilson for receiving this coveted honor,” said Dr. Joe Burke, who is serving as Calhoun’s interim president. “Dr. Wilson’s passion for seeing our students succeed is unmatched, so this acknowledgment of her work is most fitting.”
Phi Theta Kappa is made up of more than 3.5 million members and nearly 1,300 chapters in 10 nations.
