The funeral for Bishop Theodore Edward Bumpus Sr., 74, of Decatur will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pentecostal House of Prayer with Bishop A.C. Strong and Bishop Jose Perry officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Calvary Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Christ Temple Holiness Church in Athens.

Bishop Bumpus died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, at Decatur General Hospital.

He was born Oct. 10, 1933.

He is survived by two sons, Theodore E. Bumpus Jr. of Athens and Charles L. Bumpus of Birmingham; seven daughters, Barbara Crayton, Chinetha Baker and husband Charles, Shirley Gaiter and husband Willie, Venesha Mallory and husband Cleo, and Diane Slaughter, all of Decatur, Linda Hughes of Athens and Rose M. Gilbert and husband Mark of Franklin, Tenn.; one sister, Mary L. Nero and husband Charles of Metairie, La.; 25 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and extended church family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Bumpus.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.
