Painter dies in fall from water tower
HURTSBORO, Ala. (AP) — A Marion County man has died in a fall while painting a water tower in Hurtsboro.
Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry said 28-year-old Christopher Hardin Dupree of Bear Creek, Ala., was killed Thursday night.
The accident happened at about 8 p.m. at a site off Alabama 51.
Sumbry said Long was painting near the top of the 150-foot structure when he fell. He said the victim was wearing a harness.
The Russell County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation. An autopsy was ordered.
