HSO to present free community events
The Huntsville Symphony Orchestra is gearing up for upcoming events aimed at entertaining children and families at no cost.
First up is the annual Young People’s Concert series, offered to 6,000 area fourth-graders on Feb. 2-3. The concert is a joint venture between the HSO and Science Applications International Corp.
At 11 a.m. on Feb. 4, HSO will present its free family concert in the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall at the Von Braun Center. The program, “Compose Yourself,” is an interactive show described by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as “the perfect blend of education and entertainment.”
Free pre-concert activities beginning at 9:30 a.m. will include an instrument petting zoo, musical chairs, face painting, coloring and more, start at 9:30 am.
The concert is sponsored by Damson Automotive Group and the Painted Violin Society and production sponsor SAIC.
