Ozone alert issued for coastal Alabama
MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — The National Weather Service is warning about potential problems with air quality in coastal Alabama.
Forecasters say state environmental officials have issued an alert for high ozone concentrations in Mobile and Baldwin counties through 7 p.m. Wednesday. That means ground-level ozone levels may reach unhealthy levels.
Most people won’t be bothered. But people who are sensitive to air quality might be affected by the elevated levels.
The alert includes Mobile and the beach towns of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach in Baldwin County.
