Are you ready for some football?

Fall camp kicked off last week for high school teams around the state, including several in The News Courier’s coverage area — with the season set to open August 22.

2023 Record: 8-4 (6-0 in Class 2A, Region 8)

Key Returners: NyNy Green, Maikyh Mitchell

Quick Hitter: The Rattlers went unscathed through Class 2A, Region 8 last season for the program’s first region title since 2016. Matt Smith, the school’s soccer coach, takes over this fall following the departure of Oscar Bonds. Smith, who played at Tanner, led the Rattlers to a state soccer title in 2023.
