AG presents awards to Ala. officers of the year
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — A Huntsville policeman who helped capture a suspect in the killing of a fellow Huntsville officer in Dec. 2007 was named the Statewide Officer of the Year.
Alabama Attorney General Troy King presented the award to Officer Kevin Lambert Thursday in Montgomery.
Two other officers were also recognized for their work in law enforcement.
Etowah County sheriff’s deputy Jason Higgins was named the outstanding officer for the Northern District.
Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Myrick was named top officer in the Middle District.
King also presented certificates of valor to the families of four officers who died in the line of duty this year.
