Adamsville police officer injured during chase
ADAMSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — An Adamsville police officer suffered minor injuries when her patrol car wrecked during a chase.
Adamsville Police Chief R.W. Carter said the officer was responding to a theft call Thursday morning at Fred’s Discount Pharmacy when the suspects took off in a stolen car.
The officer’s car hit a power pole and downed power lines. Carter said the officer was taken to the hospital and was in good condition.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies and Adamsville police chased the suspects into Walker county, where Jasper police joined in.
Carter said the suspects left their car and ran into a house that police later determined to be a methamphetamine lab. Jasper police took them into custody. Carter said the man and woman will be in the Adamsville city jail until charges are filed.
