Ardmore Health & Rehab under new management

It’s no April Fool’s joke — Monday was Ardmore Health and Rehab’s first day as Elk River Health and Rehab of Ardmore, courtesy of new owners and management.

Ocoee Foundation Inc. announced last week it had purchased three facilities from Ted Barnett, including Fayetteville (Tennessee) Health and Rehabilitation Center and Willows of Winchester (Tennessee) Health and Rehabilitation Center, to be part of the Elk River Health and Rehabilitation brand.

Ocoee President John Sheehan said the foundation looks forward to improving the properties.

“Ocoee intends to make considerable renovation improvements with an investment of over $3 million in the former Barnett homes,” Sheehan said. “Renovations have already begun and are expected to be complete by early 2020.”

In Fayetteville, these renovations include new computers, phones, internet service, nurse stations, furniture, HVAC system, offices and beds — to name a few things.

“They are completely redoing the building,” said Tucker Gillihan, director of human resources at Fayetteville Health and Rehab. “… We already have a new sign out front and new landscaping.”

The properties will be managed by Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation. Twin Rivers President Clint Davis said he was excited about the opportunity to manage the homes and serve its residents.

“Twin Rivers is going to be around for a long time, and we are committed to doing our best for the residents, their families and our business partners in Franklin, Giles and Lincoln County, Tennessee, as well as Limestone County in Alabama.”

Davis said they met with facility staff last week and hope to meet with residents and families in the coming weeks.

“We look forward to working with the staff and community to help Elk River of Ardmore be a facility they can be proud of,” he said.
