Wayne Chapman

The funeral for Wayne Chapman, 67, of Elkmont, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Spry Funeral Home with Steve Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Hodges Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Chapman died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at Huntsville Hospital.

He was born Aug. 3, 1941, in Dumas Miss. He was a member of the Elkmont Church of Christ, a Siemens Corp. retiree, and an Alabama National Guard member. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Estelle Chapman,;his grandparents, Jessie L. and Sallie Kent, who raised him in Dumas after his parents died at an early age, and James and Susie Chapman.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Chapman of Elkmont; two daughters, Sharon Dubin of Princeton, N.J., and Monica Beasley and husband Brad of Athens; grandchildren, Sydney Dubin, Emma Dubin, Lily Dubin, Stephen Dubin and Ashley Beasley; uncles, Don Kent and wife Margie of Colliersville, Tenn., and Manuel Hodges of Dumas, Miss.; sister-in-law, Linda Owens and husband Julian of Athens; and brother-in-law, James Wright and wife Sandy of Elkmont.

Pallbearers will be Mark Owens, Derrick McGlocklin, John Rezach, Terry Lane, Don Wright and Cody Wright.

Memorials may be made to Elkmont Church of Christ.
