Official: More than 350 visited drive-thru clinic
Mikki Everson, a nurse from the Limestone County Health Department, gives Katy Gibson a flu shot during a drive-thru shot clinic at the Athens Sportsplex Wednesday. Gibson and her husband Tommy and 2-year-old daughter Riley each got a shot that day. Sponsored by the Alabama Department of Public Health, more than 350 took advantage of the clinic. Daphne McElyea, clinic supervisor at the Limestone County Health Department, said the drive-thru was a one-time event, but people can still get a reduced-cost or free flu shot at the health department at 20371 Clyde Mabry Drive from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays.
