Jimmy Lee Cain

A graveside service for Jimmy Lee Cain, 84, of Athens, will be 11 a.m. today at Roselawn Cemetery with Dr. Robin Smith officiating. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home is directing.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Cain died July 9, 2006 at Athens Convalescent Center.

He was an army veteran of World War II and attended Parkers Chapel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Ruth Sandlin Cain of Athens; one brother, Wallace F. Cain and wife June of Athens; one nephew, Wallace Cain Jr. and wife Rebecca of Athens; and two great-nieces, Christie Smith of Azel, Texas and Candee Englas of Reno, Nevada.



William Ed “Buddy” Clem

Mr. William Ed “Buddy” Clem, age 64, of Athens, died Sunday, July 9, 2006 at his home. Funeral service will be today at 11 a.m. at the McConnell Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Doug Colwell and Shawn Faulk officiating. Burial will be in Bottoms Cemetery.

Mr. Clem is survived by one son, Dennis Clem of Athens; two daughters, Melissa Donath of Huntsville, and Brittney Clem of Athens; three brothers, Buel Clem, Bobby Clem and Billy Clem, all of Athens; one sister, Martha Nell Hodges of Athens; six grandchildren, Lance Haggard of Athens, Ariel Robinson of Mobile, Chase Robinson of Grove Hill, Dalton Gibson of Huntsville, Christian Donath of Huntsville and Evan Jones of Athens; two great-grandchildren, Courtney Haggard and Gabriel Haggard, both of Athens.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hodges, Joe Clem, Heath Clem, Randy Clem, Russell Clem and Corwin Clem.

Mr. Clem was born Oct. 30, 1941 in Limestone County to Coy Clem and Lila Hardy Clem. He was a member of the Church of the Living God in Bethel, Tenn. He worked as a carpenter all of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Michael Ed Clem, two sisters, Margaret Malone and Louise Aycock.



Charlotte Roe Mansell

The funeral for Charlotte Roe Mansell, 74, of Elkmont will be today at 2 p.m. at Pettusville Church of Christ with Steve Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Hodges cemetery. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home is directing.

The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. today.

Ms. Mansell died Sunday, July 9, 2006 at Sunbridge Nursing Home in Ardmore, Tenn.

She was a member of Elkmont Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Mansell and parents Lonnie and Maggie Robinson.

She is survived by two sons; Johnny Mansell and Tim Mansell, both of Elkmont; two daughters; Jane Miller of Elkmont and Jenny Miller of Ardmore; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one sister Lola Francis Scooley of Holly Springs, Miss.

Pallbearers will be Justin Kennedy, Tommy Moore, Donnie Dean, Lelus Walker, David Dunnavant Jr. and Jamie Dawson. Honorary pallbearers will be Reggie Holt, Ray Holt, Nelson Moore and Charlie Rich.



Linda Catherine Sledge

A funeral service for Linda Catherine Sledge, 72, of Athens, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fletcher’s Chapel #1 Primitive Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth Langford officiating. Interment will be held in the Thatch-Mann Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to funeral time.
