TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (AP) — A man was found dead inside a north Alabama home after a standoff with police.

WHNT-TV reports that Tuscumbia police said the man barricaded himself inside the home Monday morning when police tried to serve an arrest warrant.

The station reported that smoke began coming from the home about an hour into the standoff.

Police said they found a 42-year-old man’s body inside. His name was not released.

Police have not said what started the fire during the standoff.
