LIMESTONE CORRECTIONAL: Ex-employee indicted for sexual misconduct

A former employee of the Limestone Correctional Facility faces a charge of custodial sexual misconduct after an incident between him and an inmate at the prison, records show.

Kristi Simpson, an interim departmental spokesperson with the Alabama Department of Corrections, confirmed Tuesday that ADOC’s Law Enforcement Services Division was made aware of the misconduct in late January. Simpson said the LESD investigated the allegations against Al Josiah Isham, who was employed as a basic correctional officer at the time.

Isham later resigned from his position, and upon completion of its investigation, Simpson said LESD presented the case to the Limestone County District Attorney’s office.

Court records show Isham was indicted by a Limestone County grand jury Feb. 24 and arrested on an indictment warrant for one count of custodial sexual misconduct April 10. He was released on $5,000 bond the same day. Arraignment has been set for June 3.
