Fatal shooting leads to manhunt, suspect arrest in Selma
SELMA, Ala. (AP) — Police say man accused of fatally shooting another man has been arrested after a manhunt in Alabama.
Selma Police Chief Spencer Collier told Al.com that 21-year-old Jalen Furlow surrendered to police early Sunday after the shooting death of 24-year-old Leon Sanders. Furlow is charged with murder and being held at the Dallas County Jail on no bond.
Police say Sanders was shot in the neck and pronounced dead at the hospital.
Furlow was being pursued overnight Sunday by Selma patrol officers, Criminal Investigation Division detectives and the Fugitive Apprehension & Special Tactics team.
Investigators believe Furlow and Sanders got into a physical altercation before the shooting.
