UPDATED: 2 dead in apparent murder-suicide
Two Limestone County men are dead after an apparent murder-suicide shortly after midnight today, an official said.
Jason Lee Wooldridge, 48, and John Few, 34, were found dead of gunshot wounds at a residence in the 23000 block of Alabama 99, Limestone County Sheriff’s Deputy Stephen Young said.
“Few was shot once in the chest and once in the head, and Wooldridge had a single gunshot would to the head,” Young said. “Few and Wooldridge were found within close proximity to each other, and a small handgun was located next to Wooldridge on the ground.”
Young said the men lived together in the home with other individuals. He said a witness who was on the phone with Few at the time of the incident had told investigators he could hear Few telling Wooldridge to put down the gun before hearing gunfire.
A motive for the shooting is unclear at this time, Young said, though witnesses have told investigators Wooldridge had a history of drug problems and had recently been acting erratically.
