Ardmore takes shutout victory over West

Ardmore scored four runs in the first inning and cruised from there, as the Tigers blanked West Limestone 8-0 Tuesday evening.

Jacob Reed led Ardmore with three hits, including two triples and three RBIs, while Nick Embry also had three hits, including a triple, and drove in a run. Blake Wallace and Jason Hogan also had doubles for Ardmore in the victory. Hogan was also the winning pitcher, working the first three innings and allowing just two hits.

Drew Beddingfield, Levi McCormick and Branson Owens each had a hit for West Limestone.

Athens 11, Lee-Huntsville 1

Athens scored eight runs in the fifth and sixth innings to turn a close game into a blowout Tuesday night.

The Golden Eagles led just 3-1 after four, but scored three in the fifth and five more in the sixth to end the game early.

Daniel Cundiff, Jacob McNairy, Bailey Odell, Major Reeves and Andrew Waldrep all had doubles for Athens, while Ethan Tease also had two hits. Lars Sanford also had a hit and two RBIs for the Eagles.

Bryson Kirk was the winning pitcher, allowing one run on four hits and 4 1/3 innings of work.

Clements 7, Elkmont 4

Clements jumped out to a 7-0 lead and held on for the victory Tuesday evening.

The Colts scored two runs in the top of the first inning, then scored one in the third, three in the fourth and added another in the fifth to take a 7-0 lead. Elkmont responded with three in the bottom of the fifth and another in the seventh, but couldn’t dig out of the large hole.

Cole Wales led Clements with four hits, including two doubles, while Ryland Kirk had a triple. Hunter Pitman had two RBIs for Elkmont.

Lindsay Lane 11, St. John Paul II 7

Lindsay Lane Christian scored seven runs in the final two innings to overcome an early 5-1 deficit and take a victory over St. John Paul II.

The Lions trailed 5-1 after two innings, but cut the lead to 5-4 before taking the lead with two runs in the sixth and pulling away with five runs in the seventh inning.

Connor Holland and Drew Turpen each had two RBIs for Lindsay Lane, while Lee Davis had two hits and drove in a run for the Lions.

Luke Turpen was the winning pitcher, allowing just one earned run in 5 2/3 innings out of the bullpen.

Russellville 8, East Limestone 1

East Limestone was held to just three hits in a loss to Russellville Tuesday night.

The Golden Tigers scored two runs in the first and two more in the third to take an early lead, and then put the game away with four runs in the sixth. East Limestone’s only run came in the top of the sixth inning on an RBI double by Payton Jackson.

Clayton Stevens and Hayden Carter had the only other hits for the Indians.
